DP World, Caspian Week 2023 join forces to develop logistics and trade
Why does it matter?
According to DP World, the upcoming event will mark a significant milestone in developing logistics and trade in the Greater Caspian Region (GCR), as part of the company’s commitment to supporting the region’s growth.
The recent partnership follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two entities in 2022, to explore avenues for collaboration in the region.
The joint event will primarily focus on the development of logistics and trade in the GCR, and addressing the key challenges facing the region, by establishing new logistic corridors and integrating logistics, trading, and financial facets into one system.
“The Greater Caspian Region holds immense potential, and we believe that by integrating logistics and trade while fostering collaboration between public and private sectors, we can overcome the challenges and unlock growth opportunities for all stakeholders involved,” DP World’s COO of Digital Technology, Mike Bhaskaran said.
Enhanced collaboration
As part of the collaboration, DP World is actively supporting GCR with various projects within the region, to help overcome technological challenges and infrastructure bottlenecks, particularly in customs operations, leveraging DP World’s vast expertise exemplified by the World Logistics Passport, which facilitates trade and the seamless flow of goods.
With multiple terminals already established in the region, the port operator aims to foster stronger relationships with local stakeholders and leverage its logistics expertise to drive more growth and tackle the challenges facing the GCR region.
